Corpus Construction For Lexicography of Languages with Limited Written Traditions
It is the aim of the proposed research to develop a well-formed corpus model for lexicography of languages with a limited written tradition. Such a model would reflect and capture varietiesof a language and present its various dimensions of usage primarily in a speech community. Of particular interest are languages with high levels of language contact. Such languages present unique challenges since they are characterised by greater levels of diglossia, code-switching and borrowing.
