The ArabOrth project is an ESRC funded project at the University of Brighton which runs from December 2009 to June 2011. The principal investigator is Lynne Cahill.
The aim of the project is to develop a hierarchical default-inheritance lexicon of Modern Standard Arabic and add orthography using the techniques developed in the PolyOrth project. Finally, the lexicons will be augmented with probabilities which will assist in disambiguating written Arabic forms which do not have their vowels explicitly marked.
